This is a wheel-thrown porcelain cup. When freshly thrown on the wheel, I give it a little squeeze at three points, creating pleasing divots in the sides. When you go to pick it up, your fingers and thumbs find these little spaces to rest in.

It has been decorated by hand in an undulating net pattern, reminiscent of the nets that fruit is sold in.

The angled base of the cup has been left unglazed and polished to a soft, buttery texture, perfect for stroking while contemplating the next move.

These cups are relatively small, perfect for a strong coffee or a mulled wine. They are all thrown from the same weight of clay and to some rough measurements, but the sizes and the depth of the angle does vary a little.
